Scar Revision Surgery Reviews
"Dr Vu Ho the best of the best! Both of us face procedures and skin rejuvenation by Dr. Vu Ho."- J.S. / Yelp / Aug 21, 2022
"Thrilled I had this surgery - I love my results - I am 49 years old and had developed droopy eyelids. I felt like I looked like I was about to fall asleep all of the time. I am thrilled I had this surgery. It was done in office. After the surgery, I never experienced any pain. I followed Dr. Ho's instructions and healed quickly. My stitches were taken out a week later and then I could cover my scars. But I drove and did many things starting a couple of days later with my sunglasses on. I really didn't need any of the pain medicine prescribed. I love my results and if I ever have any other procedures, I will go see Dr. Ho- he's fantastic."- B. / RealSelf / Apr 27, 2023
Who Is a Good Candidate for Scar REvision?
The best candidates for facial scar revision surgery:
- Have scars as a result of trauma, accident, previous surgery, or cancer
- Have a loss of function, such as nerve damage
- Have extensive cosmetic issues due to the appearance of the scar
- Desire a long-term solution

Scar REvision Surgery technique
Various types of scars call for different techniques. When scars arise from a problem with a previous surgery, the original incision can be reopened and the skin can be moved around to minimize the appearance of the scar. In some cases, the scar can be moved to a different location to make it less visible. With raised scars, dermabrasion and laser skin resurfacing procedures can be used to remove the upper layers of skin to make the scar smoother and more even with the rest of the face. Keloid scars, which are raised, can be surgically removed to improve the appearance. Depending on the type of scar and its condition, our team will use general or local anesthesia. The surgery is considered outpatient where the patient can return home the same day.
What Can I Expect After Scar REvision Surgery?
After surgery, pain, discomfort, redness, swelling, and bruising can be expected. Stitches are usually removed in a week following surgery, if applicable. Strenuous exercises and activities will need to be avoided for the first week or so. In addition, patients should keep their head elevated while sleeping. There will be multiple follow-up appointments so the surgeon can ensure the treatment site is healing properly. It can take up to a full year or more for the scar to fully heal and for the patient to notice full results.
