The procedure is a simple office-based procedure that will be done under local anesthesia. Treatment will normally take approximately 30 minutes. A week later, sutures are removed, and re-piercing can be done in 12 weeks. Patients will be left with natural-looking earlobes following surgery.

I love Beautiful Faces! I first saw Dr. Ho in 2016 for an earlobe repair. Following earlobe repair, the ears may be dressed to provide protection. There is typically minimal pain associated with this procedure, but patients should expect to experience tenderness and swelling. Sutures may be removed 1 week after surgery. Can you repair a gauged ear?
While gauged earlobes can be repaired, it depends on the size of the gauge and how much the tissue has been stretched out. If the tissue is too thin, it may need to be removed. Why can't I get my ears pierced again right away?
As we mentioned, re-piercing can be done 12 weeks after earlobe repair in Plano. This is because your body needs time to heal the damaged tissue. We also want to make sure your earlobes are settled into their final position during recovery. Otherwise, your new piercings may not appear symmetrical.
