Keep reading to find out how Pro-Nox can ease pain during fat transfer procedures.
What is fat transfer?
Fat transfer (or fat grafting) allows Dr. Ho to take fat tissue from one area of the body and use it to fill in areas that need more volume. This body sculpting procedure lets you choose where to remove and add fat, taking it from stubborn areas such as the abdomen, hips, and thighs and adding it to the lips, cheeks, butt, and breasts.
The first step in a fat transfer is liposuction to remove fat from unwanted areas. Then, the fat is purified, and only the more ideal fat cells are chosen for reinjection into the body via a syringe.
What is Pro-Nox?
Pro-Nox is an alternative to anesthesia. It is composed of 50% nitrous oxide (aka laughing gas) and 50% oxygen. It can help reduce discomfort and anxiety during procedures and is so effective that it has been used not only for injections such as BOTOX but also during surgical procedures.
Anesthesia always comes with risks. The use of Pro-Nox can help remove those risks, making surgery safer and allowing patients to control their pain relief. Pro-Nox is a patient-controlled inhaled analgesia that works in seconds, offering immediate pain relief for patients when they feel they need it.
How is Pro-Nox used during fat transfer?
Some extensive liposuction is performed using general anesthesia, but in many cases, it's performed with local anesthesia. Pro-Nox is so effective that patients now have a choice about whether to reduce their surgical risks by choosing to control their own pain relief during surgery. It is an excellent choice for patients who don't need to be asleep during their procedures.
Pro-Nox works without the use of opioids and will warn doctors if the tank runs low. It will not allow patients to administer a harmful dose of analgesia. It allows you to feel relaxed, safe, and comfortable while remaining alert. In fact, it has already been used worldwide for decades in other fields of medicine, such as labor and delivery.
If you feel pain during any part of the fat transfer procedure, you can administer Pro-Nox yourself, and it works in seconds. It also wears off in minutes, so you don't have to recover from anesthesia. However, you may also choose additional sedation medication during the liposuction portion of a fat transfer procedure.
The only thing you need to do during your fat transfer with Pro-Nox is inhale through the breathing tube. If you've had adequate pain relief, you can simply remove the mouthpiece at any time to take a break.
