Laser Skin Resurfacing Reviews
"Absolutely amazing experience! Everyone is professional, caring, and very welcoming! - Incredibly awesome! Dr. Ho was more than comforting, reassuring and professional. I came to Dr. Ho with concerns primarily to talk to him about "wrinkles" on my chin area and underneath my eyes. I had received two other consultations and both doctors recommended surgical procedures. Dr. Ho immediately said that I did not need that and suggested C02 laser treatment on my entire face and PRP..."- S. / RealSelf / Apr 29, 2017
"I couldn't be more happier with my face lift and laxer treatment to my face. Dr. Ho is so thorough with explanation of all procedures I had done. His skills are phenomenal. I no longer have a double chin and my face truly looks 10 years younger. People who don't know me have thought I was 50 or 52. Truth is I am 62. My healing process has gone very well, above what I expected. I am continuing my care with Dr. Ho getting some fillers done as well.. My confidence level has risen too. His staff and nurses are wonderful. I just love visiting with everyone here. You know that they care deeply for all the patients."- B.G. / Healthgrades / Sep 06, 2019
During a consultation, a medical professional will help determine if laser skin resurfacing is right for you in order to achieve your goals. The ideal candidates for laser skin resurfacing:
- Have aged skin with facial lines and wrinkles
- Have sun-damaged skin
- Have acne
- Desire long-lasting results
What to Expect
A numbing agent or local anesthetic can be given to the patient prior to laser skin resurfacing. The practitioner will place the CO2 laser on the treatment area for a short period of time before moving to the next section. Short pulses of light are emitted into the deeper layers of the skin to increase collagen production. The skin is removed layer by layer to stimulate the growth of new skin.
Since the skin can discharge a yellowish fluid, the doctor will apply an ointment to the area for protection. The treated area will also be dressed for further protection. After treatment, the patient usually experiences itchy, swollen, and raw skin. The doctor will provide detailed aftercare instruction. If crusting occurs, the patient should refrain from picking at the crust since it can lead to scars.
As the skin recovers, a patient should keep the skin clean and protected. Within 1 – 2 weeks, new, refreshed, and rejuvenated skin should appear. Increased collagen production will lead to firmer, tighter skin that will continue to improve over time. Follow-up treatments may be needed for the best results.
