Most areas of the body can be treated, but the most common areas are the stomach, arms, chest, knees, and thighs. The best candidates for BodyTite treatments want to:
- Avoid surgical downtime and scarring
- Eliminate stubborn pockets of fat
- Improve the appearance of sagging, wrinkled skin
- Improve the contours and tightness of the body
What to Expect
BodyTite is usually performed with local anesthesia, but general anesthesia may be used for patients who are more nervous or having several areas treated. The special BodyTite applicator is inserted through 3 mm incisions in the skin where an internal and external thermometer will protect the patient from burns. The applicator will loosen and liquefy the fat with radiofrequency waves so the fat can be easily suctioned out of the body. The heat used during the fat removal will tighten the skin and connective tissue for immediate skin contraction. BodyTite treatments usually takes 30 – 45 minutes per area treated and multiple sessions may be needed or recommended for ideal results.
Most patients will need to rest at home for 5 – 10 days after their BodyTite treatment. A compression garment should be worn over the treated areas to promote healing while maintaining the new body shape. Some results will be seen immediately, but final results will not be visible for 3 – 6 months as the swelling and inflammation subside. While the fat that is removed cannot return, the remaining fat cells can become larger if the patient gains weight, so it is important to maintain a healthy, stable weight after BodyTite treatments.
